Are you seeking classes to find or re-gain the joy of movement, as well as deepen in a movement practice? Word Dance Theater offers classes taught by Duncan Master Teacher, Cynthia Word. The Duncan technique stresses expressivity, creativity, musicality, and the beauty of the human form.  It is a fusion of body, mind, and spirit fueled by beauty, strength, and freedom.   In each class we build strength and flexibility through our floor work, barre, and locomotor motifs followed by improvisations and choreographic studies inspired by the philosophy and technique of Isadora Duncan.

  • Private classes for youth or adults: one hour classes with Cynthia Word; ideal for exploring a specific dance more deeply, coaching in your dance technique, or coaching for a specific project.

  • Master Classes in the Art of Isadora Duncan: these two (2) hour classes provide an opportunity to delve more deeply into the Duncan technique and philosophy of movement, which laid the groundwork for Modern Dance in America and the world.  Some movement experience required.

“I truly want you to know how special your class is to me. It’s as if I found the missing puzzle piece to my ever changing and growing chaotic life puzzle!”  — Mindy

“Thank you for your dedication and patience in teaching us more than just the steps Isadora performed.  Each week, you give us so much more to carry us through our week.”  — Mel
